Helen Jennings was an 11-year old viewer who dealt with Badges For Sale. In March 2006, it was revealed that badges were being sold online and hence Blue Peter badge owners could no longer use the privileges that came with the badge (getting into attractions across the UK).
Online auction sites like E-Bay were selling both real and fake Blue Peter badges online that then could be used to get into over 200 attractions over the UK. Once this was removed, Blue Peter were thinking of a way to solve this problem.
Helen Jennings, a badge holder, came up with the idea to use a Blue Peter badge card and even sent in a prototype. For this, she got a silver badge and Photo ID cards were issued to all 6 to 15-year olds.
