BBC 1 was the TV channel that replaced BBC Television or BBC TV in 1964 after the launch of BBC 2.
In 1964 until 1995, Blue Peter was broadcast on both Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00pm for 25 minutes and from 1995, a third show was also added. BBC 1 was hosting Blue Peter 3 times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The airtime changed again in 2006, meaning the show was broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays before the Monday show was moved to Tuesday. In May 2007, the show lost the Thursday show. A big change happened in the BBC schedule happened in February 2008, meaning Blue Peter was moved to 4:35pm on BBC 1. In 2010, the show changed to Mondays and Tuesdays.
In January 2012, the show dropped to only one show on Thursday at 5:45pm on CBBC and then repeated on BBC 1 the following day before, finally in December 2012, the 54-year run on BBC 1 came to an end.
